School Breaks
The summer holiday means relaxation and plenty of play time for your children. But it may also provide ample time for your kids to forget much of what they learned in school and get behind in their studies.
Keep Reading: Although your children may not have any school-required reading assignments over the holiday, it’s best to keep their reading skills sharp by making sure that they still read a fair amount of books. Encourage your kids to read a set number of books during the summer recess and provide them with a reward, such as a special dinner or a trip to a water park, when they’ve reached their goals. Or, if you have very small children, you can read to them every night so that they can improve their language and reading skills.
Toys & Games: You can also be a bit sneaky with your kids and educate them while they’re busy having fun. There are tons of learning toys and educational games out there from retails like The Toy Shop and Yellow Moon. For a limited time you can receive a 5% discount off all purchases made at The Toy Shop (a Codes.Co.UK exclusive!), and until 1 July you can receive a 10% discount off arts and crafts orders of £35 or more from Yellow Moon (code: YC0511).
